Examples_GenAI_activities

I eventually design assignments that require students to engage with GenAI tools. Here, I will post the assignments and activities that can be generalized to either other disciplines or uses. I hope this can be useful to other instructors.

  • AI_ChatBotArena: This in-class activity starts from a conversation with students about benchmarks used to evaluate current GenAI systems and to what extent these benchmarks relate (or not) to common, everyday uses. This activity is generalizable to contexts with a strong humanistic flavor.
  • Lab A_Software_Architecture: This lab is geared towards CS. Specifically, it asks students to reflect on software architecture and then use a GenAI tool of their choice to elaborate more on that. Students can either interpret “software architecture” as a blueprint or as a roadmap. After working on lab A, students are asked to work on part B, which does not apply GenAI tools.
