This aligns with my aim of <strong>effectively<\/strong> <strong>teaching a diverse group of people and of attracting individuals from diverse identities<\/strong> to my research team and classes. I encourage students to go deeply into the roots of what is being taught, searching for the assumed premises and the interfering biases. I practice active listening with my students and use various strategies to help them gradually become <strong>independent thinkers<\/strong>.<\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0<span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">I want to <a href=\"https:\/\/eliott-fernanda.cs.grinnell.edu\/home\/acknowledgments\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">thank all guest lecturers and collaborators<\/a> who supported my courses over the years.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/eliott-fernanda.cs.grinnell.edu\/home\/coffee-chat\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">AI Coffee Chat:<\/a> At least once a semester, I open my lab for a chat about AI.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;
